Selecting the right battery doesn't have to be overwhelming! Let Future Green guide you through the process.
Understanding Your Application
The first step is identifying your needs:
Starting Battery: Delivers a powerful burst of energy for engine starts, then recharged by the alternator. High CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), lower AH (Amp Hours)/RC (Reserve Capacity). Not designed for deep discharge.
Deep Cycle Battery: Provides steady current over extended periods. Ideal for powering electronics and accessories, or applications like solar power system ,marine use. High AH/RC, lower CCA. Can withstand repeated discharges.
Dual Purpose Battery: Combines starting and deep cycle capabilities for versatile use.
Battery Types
Battery construction and materials determine its type:
Flooded Lead Acid: Common in most vehicles due to affordability. Sealed Maintenance Free options are popular.
AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat): Handles higher demands, found in modern cars with start/stop features and performance vehicles. Superior to flooded lead-acid.
EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): Similar benefits to AGM, but generally more affordable.
Lithium: Lightweight and compact with high CCA and AH/RC. Ideal for performance vehicles and motorcycles. Expensive but offers the ultimate performance and longevity.
